Gannavaram: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) candidate Yarlagadda Venkata Rao reacted strongly against Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan's letter levelling several allegations against him, which was posted on Vamsi's Facebook profile on Sunday.
The YSRCP leader Yarlagadda Venkata Rao in a press meet held on Monday clarified the allegations and lambasted Vamsi in no clear terms. He said that he had never written to the Commissioner of Police Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao seeking police protection in the wake of alleged threats made by Vamsi, as he already had gunmen provided by the government.
Speaking at length, he said that never once had he made personal comments against any TDP leader nor had he uttered the name of the incumbent MLA. Venkata Rao said that he had worked in MNCs in the US and all the funding of his election campaigning came from his hard earned money, unlike Vamsi who earned through ill-gotten gains.
The YSRCP leader said that he had come from America to work for the people and not loot them. He also said that he came from a family who were into social work and there were many people from his family who were in politics since the past 40 years and that he was the first one to join politics in his generation.
Reacting sharply to one of the allegations Venkata Rao said that it was he (Vamsi) who converted MRO's into " Matti (sand) Revenue Officers” and did illegal sand mining like him.
Venkata Rao said that it was the fear of losing elections which was making Vamsi make such senseless statements. It was the fear that YSRCP would win the elections and would investigate into his illegal activities that drove him to make such absurd allegations, he said.
"When the YSRCP comes into power we will ensure that all his illegal activities, like land grabbing, sand mining and other activities are exposed", he said. The people in the constituency know what kind of person he was, but are living in a constant fear against a backlash by him, he said.
He went on to reveal that it was he who had dug up all the lakes in the constituency and conducted a sand mining mafia in the state. Yarlagadda also questioned whether it was not true if Vamsi and his wife met YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Bangalore right before the 2014 Elections.
Clarifying the allegations that he had built a house illegally in Gannavaram which was reported in a newspaper leaning towards TDP, Venkata Rao dismissed the allegation and said that people knew it was a false report by their Yellow Media .
He said that there was clear documentation for his house and that it was perfectly legal. Vamsi's way of politics is borderline sadistic and that the TDP leader themselves were unable to bear his highhandedness, he decried.
Venkata Rao also claimed that he was not a culture-less person like Vamsi and trying to instill fear in the YSRCP cadre was not going to work and neither would they fall for such tactics, he warned in no less terms.
