I feel like a homecoming: Ravindra Babu

Pandula Ravindra Babu

Telugu Desam Party MP from Amalapuram Pandula Ravindra Babu quit Telugu Desam Party (TDP)  and joined the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) today on Monday.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting he said that he was happy to have joined the YSRCP and for him, it felt like a homecoming. He criticised Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for ditching the people of Andhra Pradesh (AP) in the name of a special economic package and his U-turn on the special category status for AP.

Ultimately, the state did not get anything from the Centre only because of Naidu, he alleged. He also said that the state could never prosper as long as Chandrababu Naidu was the Chief Minister. He said that Chandrababu literally ran away to Vijayawada because of the vote-for-note case and he was only spreading corruption at all levels in the state. With him being in power only one caste sees benefits, he said.

Ravindra Babu said that he joined the YSRCP only for the state's benefit and expressed confidence that only YS Jagan had the capability to bring the Special Category Status for AP. He also asked the people to unite and ensure that the YSRCP wins the upcoming assembly elections and if the state has to be freed from poverty it can happen only if YS Jagan comes to power, he said. He also said that Chandrababu had an army of people from different castes and would set them up against each other and abuse them he said.

Ravindra Babu also showed his resignation letter to the media and said that he had also resigned from the party primary membership.
