YSR Congress Party on Thursday described the axing of senior minister Dr P Shankar Rao as a use-and-throw policy of the Congress Party.
“He was given the ministerial berth to return the favour for filing cases against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and once the purpose was served, they dropped him like a hot potato,” the party spokesperson told reporters here on Thursday.
The Congress encouraged him all the time when he was filing cases against our leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and when Dr Shankar Rao used the same methodology against his own party persons and cabinet colleagues, he became a thorn in the flesh and was thus dropped, she said.
“We need not react to the internal issues of the Congress Party, but as a dalit leader was axed from the cabinet and not in a reshuffle, it merits a mention,” she said.
Dr. Shankar Rao was the lone minister to besacked by Chief Minister K Kiran Kumar Reddy after two members of the Chiranjeevi group were taken into the cabinet.
