YS Jagan worried over water shortage

Chief, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, visited the Chitravathi reservoir.
During his visit he observed that only one tmc of water is available while the
storage capacity of it is 10 tmc. After observing the situation, he
expressed his grief and concern over the water shortage in Pulivendula. He
further acknowledged his unhappiness, by stating that it does not even contain
10% of the total capacity of the drinking water storage.
“There
is one and a half lakh acres of agricultural land which needs water supply
while the available water is not even serve the purpose for at least 12000
acres” YS Jagan mentioned. “How would you supply water for agricultural and
drinking needs of Pulivendula people, when there is only one tmc store water
while 0.95 tmc of available water should be stored under dead-storage in the
reservoir? Jagan questioned the Government.
Jagan
further asked, “When the peasants of Pulivendula did not have their minimum
requirements for water met, how can the chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and
irrigation Minister Devineni say that they would felicitate farmers? Is there
any point in giving such statements?
He
shared his despondency, that under YSR’s leadership YSR government gave 12 tmc
of water to Brahman sagar but, Babu has not even released single drop of water.
