The Congress Party is in a cloud of confusion on the issue of disowning YSR with a section of leaders openly defying the idea and the leadership changing its stand more frequently to its comfort, said YSR Congress Party spokesperson, Ambati Rambabu.
“The state of confusion of Congress is very clear, leaders like Sai Prathap and others have openly said that they cannot criticise YSR. Even Mr Palakonda Rayudu told TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu that he cannot speak against YSR. All these are indications of what is in store for the two parties,” Ambati told reporters here on Thursday.
Whether to own YSR or to disown him has been the Congress dilemma and the results of disowning him were in the open and will be more glaring in the ensuing by-polls to the 18 assembly and Nellore Lok Sabha seats, he said.
Four ministers including Ghanta Srinivas, TG Venkatesh and Ponnala Laxmaiah faced the people’s ire yesterday and the April 15th Paja Padam programmes may see some more as there is lot of dissent among the people with the State Government.
It is time for Congress to introspection and refrain from criticising YSR as people are not prepared to take it in their stride, he said.
Even some of the senior Congress leaders have openly expressed their view about YSR and his stand on various issues, while some leaders are trying out weak terms only to please their Delhi bosses but there is little or not content in it.
It is difficult to separate YSR from his welfare schemes but the ministers and MLAs who will be touring places in the ensuing Praja Padam will have to face the ire of the people if YSR and his policies were attacked, he said.
