Tadepalli, March 22: Bandela Kiran Raj, State President of YSRCP Divyangula Vibhagam, has criticized the coalition government in Tadepalli for jeopardizing the pensions of 2 lakh differently-abled individuals out of the 8 lakh receiving Rs. 6,000 monthly.
He highlighted the distress caused by rigorous disability certificate verifications and re-verification tests, with only 1.5 lakh of the 2 lakh re-verified included online, leaving 50,000 in limbo and raising fears that 1.5 lakh may lose their pensions. Kiran Raj accused the government of discriminating against the differently-abled—previously deemed eligible voters—questioning their sudden ineligibility and noting the absence of pension disbursements in its ten-month tenure. He slammed Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan for unfulfilled promises of pension hikes, pointing out the community’s worsening plight. Kiran Raj also raised concerns over transgender insecurity, citing an unaddressed brutal murder in Anakapalli. He contrasted this with the welfare schemes under Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government, reaffirming YSRCP’s support for the differently-abled.
