Kurnool, April 14: Reiterating that Amaravati is a never ending project with no utility and a burden on future generations while Mavigun is a practical alternative, YSRCP has said that the coalition is heaping abuses on our leadership for his mature suggestion.
Speaking to media here on Tuesday, former minister Buggana Rajendranath said, Amaravati is steeped in corruption and goes against the experts opinion who were of firm view that capital city cannot come up in the verdant region with low soil-bearing capacity and other reasons.
When Y. S. Jagan Mohan, who has set up a committee with experts like KT Ravindran, endorsed the Sivaramakrishnan’s Report, and suggested decentralized development, Chandrababu negated it and went ahead with Minister P. Narayana Committee which has his group of businessmen and is going ahead with Amaravati which only serves the real estate ambitions of his coterie.
Y. S. Jagan Mohan has come up with the Mavigun alternative which is practical and economic for which he is being targeted by the coalition calling him names and bringing in irrelevant issues.
If Amaravati is precious, why are TDP and Jana Sena Party Offices not located in that region but are in the area suggested by Y. S. Jagan Mohan he questioned.
The rampant corruption in Amaravati is in the open with the bids being given at Rs 14,800 per sft while the standard rate in metro cities is Rs 4,000 per sft. Apart from that, Rs 400 crore is being given as mobilization advance just for design.
Though Chandrababu has claimed that Amaravati is a self-financed project why are the loans being taken and guarantees given pushing the state into debt. The basic infrastructure itself needs Rs 2 lakh crore and his ill-conceived notion may end up with no capital itself.
With so much of centralization of development, sanctioned medical colleges are not taken up, all welfare activities are stopped or diluted. No fee reimbursement, no payment of Aarogyasri dues, no new pensions, no MSP to farmers and employees along with other sections are being cheated.
Unable to answer the questions raised by Y. S. Jagan Mohan, the coalition is resorting to abusive language and targeting YSRCP leadership but people have realized the game of Chandrababu and are in favour of Mavigun, he said.
