Kurnool, May 9: Reiterating his commitment to protect the interests of Minorities, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said TDP has aligned with BJP which has vowed to disband Muslim reservations.
Addressing a huge public meeting here on Thursday, the Chief Minister dared Naidu to share dais with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and announce his support for Muslim reservations.
On one hand, he has aligned with the BJP and on the other, he is wooing Muslims for votes, the Chief Minister said.
Brushing aside the objections on Muslim reservations, he explained that only the very poor in the Muslim community will get the four percent quota, he said, adding that he would strive to protect the honour of the community on matters like CAA and NRC.
Besides giving respectable posts like Deputy Chief Minister and Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative Council to the community representatives, he said he has given four per cent political reservation also for the community by allotting seven Assembly and Lok Sabha tickets for them, besides making Urdu second official language.
The Chief Minister also underscored that YSRCP Government changed the course of the State by disbursing Rs.2.7 lakh crore DBT welfare benefits, creating 2.31 lakh Government jobs, making English medium education accessible to students of the poor families, empowering the women and farmers and overhauling the administration with village and ward secretariats.
Describing the forthcoming elections as Kurukshetra, he said they are not just meant to elect MPs and MLAs but to safeguard the people’s future for the next five years and usher in household welfare and development.
A vote for TDP will result in being cheated again as proved by Naidu’s 2014 election manifesto. He urged the people to give YSRCP a clean sweep victory of 175 assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats to continue the welfare and development saga.
