Naidu’s vendetta targets  YSR legacy erasure

YSRCP State Official Spokesperson and former MLA Sri Koramutla Sreenivasulu

Tadepalli, March 19: YSRCP condemns Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s and coalition government for its systematic campaign to erase the legacy of Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR) and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. YSRCP State Official Spokesperson and former MLA Sri Koramutla Sreenivasulu highlighted the relentless campaign to remove YSR’s name from institutions, projects, and public memory, terming it a petty and vindictive act against a leader whose contributions remain unmatched. “It’s not how long we live that matters, but how nobly we live,” Sri Sreenivasulu quoted YSR, emphasizing that the late Chief Minister’s transformative welfare schemes and development initiatives. He accused Naidu’s son, Nara Lokesh, of inciting this campaign, citing the latest vandalism of a YSR statue in Kodumuru yesterday and similar acts at Nagarjuna University, Vijayawada (where even an Ambedkar statue was targeted but halted by public resistance), and across districts like Eluru, Guntur, and Prakasam.
Sreenivasulu emphasized YSR’s unmatched contributions—welfare schemes like Aarogyasri and irrigation projects for Rayalaseema—making him a “god-like figure” in people’s hearts, a legacy Naidu’s 15-year tenure cannot rival. He noted YS Jagan’s respect for naming a district after NTR, contrasting it with the coalition’s arbitrary removal of YSR’s name from institutions, including the Visakhapatnam International Cricket Stadium on March 18, 2025, calling it “shameful.” Over 30 incidents since June 4, 2024, including attacks on Dr. YSR Health University (June 4), statues in Kaikaluru (June 5), Tulluru (June 6), Rajampalli (June 7), and renaming Tadigadapa Municipality and YSR District (March 17, 2025), reflect this conspiracy.
He criticized Naidu’s administration for failing to implement a single welfare scheme, cutting pensions for 4 lakh beneficiaries, and sparking public rebellion. “They can remove statues, but not YSR from people’s hearts,” he said, challenging Naidu to match YSR’s achievements instead of erasing his name. Sreenivasulu warned that coalition leaders, unable to face villages due to their misdeeds, will soon pay the price for these “sins.”
