Anantapur, March 10: Former Minister Sake Sailajanath criticized the coalition government for betraying students and youth, announcing a statewide 'Yuvata Poru' protest by YSRCP on March 12. He accused the government of undermining education and healthcare by privatizing medical colleges, rejecting new medical seats, and neglecting the fee reimbursement scheme, with Rs. 3,900 crore in dues unpaid against a mere Rs. 2,600 crore budget allocation. Sailajanath questioned the absence of promised jobs, unemployment allowances, and Mega DSC recruitments for 16,000 teacher posts, challenging claims of 20 lakh jobs.
He stated that CM Chandrababu Naidu prioritizes business over welfare, weakening the fee reimbursement scheme, credited to Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for uplifting lakhs of students. The 'Amma Vodi' scheme was scrapped and replaced by an unfulfilled 'Talliki Vandanam' promise. On unemployment, he debunked claims of Rs. 14 lakh crore debt by YSRCP, noting the actual Rs. 7 lakh crore debt, and demanded immediate unemployment aid and DSC notification.
Sailajanath condemned the sabotage of 17 new medical colleges (Rs. 8,000 crore investment under YS Jagan), with five operational, as the government borrowed Rs. 1.19 lakh crore in nine months yet refused to fund them. He expressed solidarity with Anganwadi protests, affirming YSRCP’s support for their demands and those of ASHA workers and volunteers, accusing the government of breaking election promises within a year.
