Chandrababu Has Poor Opinion On Farmers

Hyderabad, Nov 1: Reiterating that Chandrababu Naidu always has had a poor opinion on agriculture and farmers, YSR Congress has said that CESS (Centre for Economic and Social Studies) endorsed the same view in a survey it recently held.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, party MLA Y Visweshwar Reddy said: ‘the CESS report has mentioned that agriculture sector in Andhra Pradesh has been in the wane and farmers are in distress.’

The report has attributed the tall talk of Chandrababu Naidu as bravado which lacks substance and agriculture sector has been thoroughly neglected by TDP government always.

The sorry state of affairs in the agriculture sector has been very glaring despite the Chief Minister’s claim that the growth rate has been in double digits and the Agriculture Mission has been very encouraging. ‘There is no truth in these claims, the report has clarified,’ he said.

Had the promise of loan waiver been fulfilled why 93% of the farmers would be in distress, he said. Farmers were always bearing the brunt under

Chandrababu Naidu leadership as his priorities lie in the capital formation and its commercialisation.

In wake of the CESS report at least, Chandrababu Naidu should change his priorities and take up steps that would benefit agriculture sector, he said.
