Jagan will play key role post 2014 polls

October 18, 2013: Mocking at the TDP allegations that the Party is having a deal with
Congress, YSR Congress has reaffirmed that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will play a key
role in the state and national politics after the 2014 elections.
“It
is not our leader who will be going round UPA but the entire polity will
revolve round YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the aftermath of 2014 poll
verdict,” party senior leader Umareddy Venkateswarlu told reporters here on
Friday.
The
question of YSRCP giving support to UPA does not arise as the Sonia Gandhi-led
Congress will bite dust in the next election and Rahul Gandhi’s wish of
becoming the Prime Minister will be a distant dream and it is difficult to
image the position of TDP which has been on a Save Congress mission.
It
is ridiculous to level baseless charges by TDP that we are game with Congress.
The decision to split the state into two is that of Congress party and we have
been vehemently opposing it. TDP on the other hand has had tie-up with TRS and
gave a letter accepting the division of the state.
Chandrababu
Naidu, who has been overtly very vocal that the Congress government should not
continue in the state, did not react properly and move a no-confidence motion
before the merger of PRP with Congress. When YSRCP took the lead to move the no
trust motion, he has issued a whip to his MLAs to keep away from voting against
the Government.
The
situation and sequence of events clearly show who has been helping whom and who
has an understanding with whom. If TDP accuses us of working in tandem with
Congress the allegation is baseless and irrelevant, he said.
In
a panel discussion a Congress legislator had said that Chandrababu Naidu has been
supporting Congress for the past 4.5 years. A TDP MLA who also participated in
the panel discussion did not even object to the Congress leader’s remarks. This
shows who is on which side, he added.
