Nandyal: Telugu Desam Party stooped to new low to win Nandyal by-election. Recently, TDP district president Somishetty Venkateshwarulu said that the party will remove the rowdy sheets opened against them if they work for the party in the ensuing polls.
Now, the ruling party indulged in rowdy politics and playing all the tricks in the trade to win the by-poll.
Cuncillor of Ward No. 12 in Nandyal municipality, Haneef Basha along with some 300 supporters joined the YSRCP on Sunday. They were welcomed into the party fold by YSRCP's Nandyal bypoll candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy and Railway Koduru MLA Koramutla Srinivasulu.
Later, speaking to media persons, Haneef Basha said that AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is resorting to unethical practices in the state. He opted to join the YSRCP after being inspired by opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his vision for the welfare of people. The ward councillor said that Chandrababu Naidu did not initiate any projects for the development of Nandyal town.
A few hours after he joined the party, he was kidnapped by the TDP members. Soon, Silpa Mohan Reddy along with several YSRCP MLAs staged a protest at Haneef Basha's residence demanding the government to release him. DSP Goplal Krishna spoke to Silpa over the phone and requested him to call off the protest. Shockingly, Haneef said that he would continue in the TDP. This behavior of Haneef's was seriously condemned by local residences and his relatives.
They said that the public will teach a fitting lesson to the TDP in the by-poll.
