TDP policies pro-rich, anti-poor: Ambati Rambabu

Hyderabad,
Castigating the TDP Government for showering sops on industrialists
on one hand and ignoring the farmers’ interests besides taking away their
fertile land YSR Congress has said the mercantile outline of the State has been
in full play during the last 11 months.
“The
State has given incentives worth Rs 2,060 crores in one stroke to
industrialists, most of them who are close to the party, and is pursuing with
its policy of acquiring fertile land from farmers in thousands of acres even as
the loan waiver scheme fell flat in implementation, “party spokesperson Ambati
Rambabu told reporters here on Friday.
Though
the incentives and land acquisition from farmers were not mentioned in the
manifesto and were not part of the electioneering, Chandrababu Naidu has been
going on a high speed on these issues besides Pattiseema project as there seems
to be kickbacks while those election promises like loan waiver, pensions, jobs
and stipend were totally put out of focus.
“These
double standards are thoroughly exposed ever since he assumed office and his
priorities are always commercial in nature and not with the farmers or other
sections of the society,” he said. The incentives of Rs 2,060 crores to industries
should immediately be withdrawn as there are other burning issues that need to
be attended to.
“The State is also contemplating to acquire
and create a 10 lakh acre land bank through APIIC which will further deprive
farmers of their livelihood. Chandrababu Naidu who has been arguing that
agriculture is a waste has been pursing with his commercial agenda and is
pampering industries besides totally ignoring farmers.
He has
been indiscriminately acquiring land and allotting them to people of his choice,
he said and demanded that the incentives given to industrialists should be
withdrawn forthwith. The Chief Minister should instead concentrate on bringing
special status to the State and expedite negotiations with the Centre, he said.
