Chandrababu undermining democracy

YSRCP MLC Lella Appi Reddy

Tadepalli, March 27: YSRCP MLC Lella Appi Reddy accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of undermining democracy, condemning the ruling coalition’s tactics in recent local body by-elections. He stated that the coalition used intimidation, false cases, and harassment to secure posts despite no support, calling it an assault on the Constitution.
Appi Reddy criticized the coalition’s statewide pattern of unethical election strategies, which he said denies citizens free voting rights and shames democratic advocates. He highlighted Naidu’s hypocrisy, noting the four-time CM’s past stance who portrays himself as a senior politician, encouraging defections and using intimidation—a stark contradiction to his earlier stance of demanding resignations before joining his party, exposing Naidu’s true character.
Appi Reddy praised YSRCP’s resilience, securing over 30 of 51 by-election seats despite pressure, while TDP won 11 and Janasena one, with 10 polls postponed. He stressed that these minor local posts expose Naidu’s desperation.
Citing YSRCP strongholds like such as Rajampet, Attili, Eluru rural, Narasaraopet, Dagadarthi, Raptadu, and Ramakuppam, where YSRCP enjoys overwhelming support, he said the coalition’s coercion failed against the party’s resolve. People would soon respond to the coalition’s oppression, he said.
