YSRCP flays coalition governance

Party leader in the Council Botsa Satyanaryana

Visakhapatnam, March 27: YSRCP has flayed coalition government for allocating prime land near the RK beach to vested interests at throwaway prices and condemned the undemocratic manner in which it has been trying to grab Civic posts misusing official machinery.
Speaking to media here on Thursday, Party leader in the Council Botsa Satyanaryana said that the government is back its old game by allotting prime land to Lulu group at throwaway prices and very generous terms like giving 99 year lease.
We strongly oppose the move and the Group would be building entertainment and hospitality facilities receiving exemptions on various counts from stamp duty and others. There is no transparency in the allotment that too for a long period of 99 years with liberal conditions which shows the intent of government which by any means is not wealth creation.
On the other count the government has been resorting to undemocratic manner misusing official machinery just for a handful of ULC seats whose term will be expiring soon. Police are being to settle political scores and adversaries are not being allowed to move freely and former public representatives are not being allowed to move freely. Corporators are being intimidated and taken away by force and are trying to show strength which they do not have.
YSRCP condemns the highhanded manner in which the coalition is trying to undermine the democratic process with police being mere spectators, he said adding that such precedence would set a bad example to the coming generation.
We had a policy of not taking defectors from other parties while the coalition government is engineering defections to get few posts, though it has no numbers in ULCs which is undemocratic, he said. We have given priority to social equations and preference to women but the coalition has no norms or commitment for weaker sections.
