Naidu diverting attention through arrests

Guntur, April 22: Former Minister and YSRCP Guntur District President Ambati Rambabu fiercely criticized Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for employing diversion politics to shift public focus from the coalition government’s corrupt administration. Addressing the media  here on Tuesday, Rambabu stated that the arrests of former Intelligence Chief PSR Anjaneyulu and Raj Kasireddy, under the guise of a liquor scam, were orchestrated to distract from widespread irregularities of coalition government.

The State transfered Rs. 3,000 crore worth land in Visakhapatnam to Ursa, a suitcase company, at 99 paise per acre and siphoned crores through commissions in Amaravati capital construction. Rambabu condemned the government’s failure to fulfill election promises, noting it has garnered unprecedented public resentment within 11 months, a record unmatched in India. He labeled these arrests as an orchestrated drama to divert attention from these failures and alleged scams. Rambabu accused Naidu of vindictive politics, targeting Anjaneyulu, a respected IPS officer with DGP potential, for his role during Naidu’s prior arrest in a skill development scam.

He highlighted counter-cases against IPS officers Kanthi Rana Tata and Vishal Gunni, who secured anticipatory bail, and questioned the practice of filing cases against officials with regime changes, urging IPS officers to reflect on this trend. Rambabu warned that Naidu would face consequences for such unjust actions, asserting that no Chief Minister is permanent.

He described Naidu as a master of diversion, manipulating public perception to mask unfulfilled promises and financial mismanagement, with Naidu himself admitting fear over the budget.

Rambabu stated massive looting through contracts, liquor, sand, and soil scams, and a second Amaravati foundation-laying ceremony to conceal this plunder. He refuted liquor scam claims, stating the YSRCP government sold liquor at lower rates, eliminated belt shops, and issued no new distillery permits. Rambabu accused the coalition of weakening the police system with false cases, citing judicial rebukes in cases involving Posani Krishna Murali and Premkumar.

He questioned Naidu’s permanence and warned that suppressing dissent could provoke stronger resistance, referencing leaders like PV Narasimha Rao, Indira Gandhi, Jayalalithaa, and YS Jagan, who faced arrests but never retaliated against officials. He dismissed Vijay Sai Reddy’s remarks, noting his defection to Naidu’s camp undermines his credibility, and vowed that YSRCP would fight back against such injustices with greater resolve.
