Tadepalli, April 22: Former MLA T.J.R. Sudhakar Babu accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of falsely blaming YSRCP for a liquor scam to deflect from the TDP’s own misconduct during 2014-2019. Naidu is orchestrating a campaign to tarnish YSRCP’s image and conceal TDP’s financial irregularities that cost the state Rs. 2,984 crore.
Sudhakar Babu stated that the CID named Naidu as accused number three (A3) in a liquor scam case, altering the excise policy to favor TDP-linked distilleries with opaque contracts. He questioned Naidu’s silence on this and why, during the 2019 elections, the TDP issued distillery permits and made bar-friendly decisions without cabinet approval, demanding to continue the probe by CID.
TDP targeting YSRCP leaders with baseless cases, including Vasudeva Reddy, coerced into signing documents, and Peddireddy Mithun Reddy and Kasireddy Rajashekar Reddy, who have no liquor policy links. “Kasireddy was an IT advisor, not involved in beverages,” he clarified, dismissing allegations against Vijaya Sai Reddy as personal vendettas.
In a direct challenge, Sudhakar Babu questioned the TDP’s electoral courage, asking if they have the resolve to contest elections fairly or cancel the Pulivendula MLA seat and face the voters again. He concluded by appealing to the media to focus on the hardships faced by the public rather than amplifying baseless narratives. “The YSRCP stands firm, ready to confront these false allegations and fight for the truth,” he declared, signaling a resolute stance against political vendettas and a commitment to serving the people of Andhra Pradesh.
