TDP using Sharmila for political diversion

Former Minister and YSRCP leader Dr. Sake Sailajanath

Tadepalli, April 4: Former Minister and YSRCP leader Dr. Sake Sailajanath accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) of betraying minorities by backtracking on the Waqf Bill. In a video message, he criticised that PCC President Y.S. Sharmila is being used as a tool to divert attention from TDP’s failures.
Sailajanath said that whenever the TDP faces political pressure, Sharmila appears in the media with diversionary statements, turning a pattern into a strategy.
He questioned why a state Congress president is targeting the opposition instead of questioning the ruling party, and asked whether she is working for the Congress or Chandrababu.
He also criticized Sharmila for repeatedly raising the Vivekananda Reddy case while ignoring key facts and alleged manipulation of witnesses.
He said efforts are being made to wrongly implicate Y.S. Avinash Reddy and other YSRCP leaders like MP P.V. Midhun Reddy.
Sailajanath questioned Sharmila’s political motives, citing her party’s sudden rise and fall in Telangana, and her return to Andhra Pradesh politics. People are watching closely and can see who truly stands for public interest and who acts for political convenience, he said.
