Tadepalli, April 26: YSR Congress Party spokesperson Putta Siva Shankar Reddy denounced coalition government for orchestrating a massive land scam involving Ursa, a company with no credible standing, and enabling widespread corruption and demanded a CBI inquiry in to the deal.
Speaking to media here on Saturday he said, welfare schemes have disappeared, while scams dominate sand, soil, liquor, mining, and capital city projects. Government leaders and their associates secure lands at prices cheaper than a cup of tea, facilitating large-scale land grabbing.
Following Nara Lokesh’s visit to the United States on October 25, 2024, the government fabricated a narrative of incoming investments to justify Ursa’s allocation. On April 10, 2025, Naidu chaired the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) meeting, followed by a cabinet meeting on April 15, 2025, where the government approved the transfer of 60 acres of highly valuable land in Visakhapatnam to Ursa. The Ursa land scam came to light on April 19, 2025, but Naidu and Lokesh have remained silent, refusing to address the controversy.
Reddy highlighted Ursa’s dubious background, noting its association with Abburi Satish, linked to the 21st Century Company, which defrauded people by promising jobs and then absconding. Despite public outcry over Ursa’s allocation, the government, the Chief Minister, and ministers have not responded. Instead, Ursa’s representatives issue statements, raising questions about the Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) defense of a private company. The YSRCP demands transparency on who received shares in the Rs. 3,000 crore land deal and calls for a CBI probe into this monumental scam.
The coalition government has privatized roads and public infrastructure since assuming power. The Andhra Pradesh Maritime Development Corporation (APMDC) took a Rs. 9,000 crore loan based on future revenue projections, threatening financial stability. Naidu is also building a personal five-acre residence in the capital with public funds, misusing taxpayer resources.
In Amaravati, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu allocated lands at inflated prices to close associates for G+1 buildings, who then constructed a building in Hyderabad and a TDP office in Mangalagiri. Under the guise of technology companies, Naidu transferred valuable lands to loyalists. Ursa, a company lacking any substantial credentials, received 59.65 acres worth Rs 3,000 crore in Visakhapatnam. Registered in the United States on September 27, 2024, and in India on February 19, 2025, Ursa operates from a double-bedroom house in Hyderabad with a mere Rs. 10 lakh capital, following its launch in Hyderabad. With no proper office or qualifications, Ursa lacks eligibility for even a fraction of an acre, yet it secured this colossal allocation.
The YSRCP demands immediate action, a CBI investigation into the Ursa land scam, and full transparency to restore public confidence
