Education system collapsed under coalition govt.

Former Minister Merugu Nagarjuna

Tadepalli, April 12: Former Minister Merugu Nagarjuna has sharply criticized the coalition government for a complete breakdown of the education system. He stated that during the tenure of former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, poor students had access to quality education and studied with contentment. However, the current government has created a situation where students cannot even afford to pay their fees. The administration is withholding fee reimbursement funds, thereby engaging in vindictive politics that has left 11 lakh students in distress.

The government owes Rs. 2,800 crore in pending fee reimbursement dues, with only Rs. 700 crore released after strong protests. Minister Nara Lokesh is a "Twitter King" who responds only to tweets from TDP workers while ignoring the plight of struggling students. Nagarjuna questioned why Lokesh fails to acknowledge the suffering of students unable to continue their education due to financial constraints.

The government is playing with students’ future, forcing many to resort to manual labor to survive. The coalition government has rendered universities ineffective and lacks compassion for the education of the poor. Nagarjuna emphasized that the government must release Rs. 700 crore per quarter to address the crisis and urged immediate action to clear the outstanding dues to safeguard students’ futures.
