YSRRCP demands probe in to deaths at TTD Gosala

Tadepalli, April 12: Former MLA Malladi Vishnu demanded that the state government immediately constitute a fact-finding committee to probe the alarming deaths of over 100 cows at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) gosala in the past three months. Addressing the media at the YSRCP central office, he questioned the silence of TTD officials despite public concern and photographic evidence released by the party showing the condition of the deceased cattle.
Vishnu blamed the deaths on the lack of medical care, the absence of veterinary staff, and poor nutrition, accusing the TTD Trust Board of gross negligence. He criticized former minister Nara Lokesh for dismissing the issue as propaganda and pointed out that even BJP leader Bhanuprakash acknowledged the matter partially.
He stated that the TTD has been reduced to a political centre under the TDP-led coalition, with VIP darshans being granted based on party recommendations, side-lining ordinary devotees. Even those with ₹300 tickets are waiting over six hours, he said, highlighting the misuse of the darshan system.
Vishnu expressed concern over recent violations of temple decorum, including individuals reaching the Mahadwaram wearing footwear and delays in deity offerings. He pointed to internal conflicts between the EO and Chairman as causes for administrative breakdown.
He also accused the coalition government of systematically targeting Hindu institutions across the state, citing demolitions of temples and gosalas in cities like Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, and Narasaraopet. He recalled the Vaikunta Ekadashi tragedy and reports of adulterated Tirumala laddus as further evidence of negligence.
Vishnu warned of public protests if the government failed to act and demanded the withdrawal of false cases against swamijis. He called for immediate reforms to restore Tirumala’s sanctity and protect the faith of millions of devotees.
