Rapthadu, April 8: Reiterating that law and order situation in the State has deteriorated in the state and the democratic process is at risk with Chandrababu Naidu’s manipulative and coercive politics in local bodies by-polls, former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy warned the police not work like watchmen of ruling party as they have to pay for their wrongdoings.
Speaking to media after consoling the family members of Kuruba Lingamayya, who was murdered in the Ramagiri mandal, he said Chandrababu has been trying to grab local bodies where TDP has no numbers by threatening, using coercive methods and pressing police into service to win a few seats.
In Ramagiri though they do not have members TDP, which has a lone member against nine of YSRCP, tried to threaten MPTCs who form a majority and when they did not yield to their threats and moved court they pressed local SI into service who threatened them by video calls while the convoy was coming to vote and deliberately delayed the process. The MPTC members were taken to Penukonda and when our Party leaders went to question, cases were foisted on them.
Later they unleashed attacks in which Lingamayya was beaten to death with a baseball bat. While 20 persons carried out the attack case was registered only on two and three of the eight witnesses were TDP members and this was done only to dilute the case. The thumb impression of Lingamayya’s wife was taken on a paper written by them and they did not take the version of the son.
The script is the same elsewhere as well, Chandra babu is making a mockery of democracy by trying to win local bodies even though his Party has no numbers by using force and it was seen in Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Ramakuppam, Attili in West Godavari and other places and it only the arrogance of Chandrababu Naidu who wants to show off his power being the main reason for such acts which is a scar on democracy.
YSRCP leades are attacked at various places Nandyala, Mahanandi, Pedakurupadu and other places. TDP has been carrying out attacks on YSRCP and foisting cases and putting them in jail with vindictive intent from Posana Krishna Murali to Nandigama Suresh, Pinnella Ramakrishna Reddy, Vallabhanenei Vamsi and others.
TDP is using police and unleashing terror as part of the Red Book Constitution but this phase will not continue forever and days will change and all those who are responsible for the atrocities will have to bear the brunt in the coming days and police should shun away from working as watchmen to Chandrbabu Naidu as people are vexed with the coalition and will soon teach a fitting lesson, he said.
YS Jagan-his down to earth attitude
Former Chief Minister and YSRCP leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had consoled the bereaved family of Kurma Lingamayya, who was murdered in the run up to the local bodies election in Ramagiri mandal.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy went into the house of Lingamayya and paid tribute to him and squatted on the floor along with the family members and interacted with them
He gave a patient hearing when the family members and well-wishers poured their woes and narrated to him about sequence of events.
The former Chief Minister also took a gulp from the water bottle offered by the family members in course of interaction.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was given a rousing reception on his arrival and party workers accompanies him with slogans CM, CM renting the air.
He also received representation from locals on the occasion.
