YSRCP stands firm with Muslim community; TDP has double standards

Tadepalli, April 15: YSR Congress Party has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Muslim community by filing a petition in the Supreme Court against the Waqf Bill. Former Minister Perni Nani lashed out at the TDP-Janasena-BJP alliance, holding them directly responsible for passing the Bill in Parliament. He pointed out that this alliance not only supported the legislation but is now indulging in hypocrisy by participating in protests against it.
Initially, they accused Sakshi offices of encroaching Waqf lands. However, once ownership documents were made public, they fell silent. They later accused YSRCP of not issuing a whip, only to retreat again when the whip documents were revealed. Nani slammed TDP for its shameless double standards and questioned whether the Waqf Bill would have passed without the votes of TDP and Janasena MPs, the very leaders who helped Narendra Modi become Prime Minister.
He drew attention to the discrimination in religious administration, pointing out that while non-Hindus are barred from temple boards, non-Muslims are being appointed to Waqf Boards, which is unjust and unacceptable according to the Waqf Bill. He dared Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh to move a resolution in the Assembly supporting the Waqf Bill if they truly stand by it and asked why they haven’t filed a petition in the Supreme Court.
Condemning the irresponsible and unfortunate politics being played by the coalition government, Perni Nani further pointed out that despite only a 2% increase in tax revenues and a 42.78% drop in capital investments, the state’s GSDF ranking has paradoxically risen to second place nationally. This only implies that the current government is preparing to take on further massive debt.
Calling out their anti-Dalit stance, Nani also condemned the chaining of a Dalit youth and a BC youth on Ambedkar Jayanti. He reminded the public of the illegal phone tapping of YSRCP leaders under the TDP regime by a move carried out under the supervision of AB Venkateswara Rao, as stated previously by the party.. He concluded that Chandrababu Naidu has never acted in the public's interest, only for his gain.
