YSRCP demands MSP to farmers

Visakhapatnam, March 25: YSRCP has demanded the coalition government to immediately come to the rescue of the farmers in distress as they have been facing difficulties in all the regions.
Speaking to media here on Tuesday, Party leader in Legislative Council, Botsa Satyanarayana said the banana and other farmers in Rayalaseema, mirchi, tobacco and other farmers in coastal and north Andhra are facing hardships due to the anti-farmer policies of the coalition government.
TDP from the beginning has the anti-farmer attitude and is of the opinion that agriculture is a waste but has talked tall in giving promises during elections. After coming to power as usual they pursued their old game. Farmers are feeling that they are against cheated by TDP and its false promises.
It is time that the Government come forward and provide MSP and clear all dues. The collation has been boasting a lot on its agriculture initiatives but when it comes to deeds, it has done nothing, he said and challenged the government to come forward with data.
How much mirchi they procured in Guntur, government should give the figures if the government has procured it has to give the details, he said. Banana plantations have been affected due to gale and unseasonal rains in Rayalaseema and the government has done nothing to console the farmers.
If the government version of providing relief is true why are the farmer staging dharnas at market yards. The farmers are in distress and are not providing MSP for any crop and we demand the government to provide MSP immediately, he said.
On the VMC Mayor post, he said YSRP has the numbers and their candidate is a BC woman.
