Tadepalli, April 08: YSRCP Student Wing Working President Ravichandra slammed Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan to hold responsibility for 23 students missing their JEE Mains examination in Visakhapatnam due to traffic disruptions caused by his convoy. Ravichandra criticized the excessive enthusiasm of Janasena leaders, whose actions, including garlanding Pawan Kalyan on the BRTS road, led to severe congestion, delaying students by nearly 50 minutes and costing them a year of hard work. He dismissed police claims denying the convoy’s role as absurd and demanded that Education Minister Nara Lokesh coordinate with central authorities to ensure justice for the students, questioning Pawan Kalyan’s failure to assure support despite ordering a police probe, as parents grieve their children’s lost futures.
In a separate press conference, YSRCP State Official Spokesperson Putta Shivashankar Reddy challenged Pawan Kalyan to an open debate over his claims on tribal road construction. He refuted Pawan Kalyan’s assertion that the YSRCP government built only 90 km of roads in five years, calling it a blatant lie, and detailed that from 2019 to 2023, Rs. 694.68 crore was spent to construct 1,128.89 km of roads, connecting 1,261 tribal habitations. This included Rs. 236 crore for 473.43 km across 127 habitations, Rs. 273.53 crore under MGNREGS for 231.50 km of gravel roads covering 433 habitations, Rs. 99.06 crore for 129.70 km of metal roads linking 306 habitations, Rs. 56.25 crore for 255.70 km of BT roads across 359 habitations, and Rs. 29.84 crore for 38.56 km of cement roads connecting 36 habitations. Pawan Kalyan misleading the public by claiming 1,069 km of roads were built in 10 months without tenders, outdoing Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh in falsehoods. Shivashankar contrasted the TDP’s 2014-19 neglect, marked by the Doli system, with YSRCP’s initiatives under former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, including two-wheeler ambulances, schools, hospitals, and RoR land titles for tribals.
