YSRCP slams police for security lapses during YS Jagan’s Ramagiri visit

YSRCP MLC Lella Appi Reddy

Tadepalli, April 8: YSRCP MLC Lella Appi Reddy criticized the police for security lapses during former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to Ramagiri, where his helicopter’s windshield was found shattered.
Speaking at the YSRCP Central Office, he questioned if this was a conspiracy, given the police’s negligence despite prior notification of the tour. He linked this to recent violence by Telugu Desam Party leaders, including the murder of YSRCP leader Kuruba Lingamayya in Papireddypalli, which YS Jagan visited to console the family.
MLC Appi Reddy highlighted the coalition government’s failure to provide security for YS Jagan, noting reduced protection since they assumed power. He accused the police of acting under coalition directives rather than the law, undermining constitutional systems.
Despite permissions and notifications, no security was arranged during YS Jagan’s tours, forcing YSRCP cadres to protect him. Appi Reddy warned that officials acting illegally would face consequences when YSRCP regains power. He also raised concerns about anti-social elements posing as supporters, referencing past attacks on YS Jagan, and urged the state government to ensure his safety.
YSRCP plans to escalate the issue to the central government and public.
