Tadepalli, Feb 13: YSRCP has slammed the coalition government for its vindictive politics and indiscriminate arrests, which are systematically weakening democratic institutions and misusing the police force to settle political scores.
YSRCP leaders have called such actions as blatant violation of human rights, targeted harassment, and fabricated cases aimed at suppressing opposition voices.
YSRCP spokesperson Jupudi Prabhakar Rao came down heavily on the government for ignoring the legal framework and acting in a dictatorial manner. He pointed out that Satyavardhan testified before the judge, stating that a false case was filed against him, exposing the misuse of power. YSRCP leader Velpula Ravikumar slammed the government for weaponizing the police machinery against political opponents.
Former Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi was arrested in a fabricated case, with police manufacturing statements against him. The petitioner Satyavardhan himself revealed in court that he was pressured into naming Vallabhaneni Vamsi in the TDP office attack case. Despite this, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his son Lokesh reportedly sent TDP leaders to intimidate Satyavardhan’s family into filing another complaint, exposing the government’s unlawful tactics.
Jupudi Prabhakar Rao emphasized that YSRCP leaders and activists are being falsely implicated in baseless cases while real perpetrators remain free. He warned such suppression will not go unnoticed, and people will rise in protest against these injustices.
Since assuming power, the coalition government has indulged in violence, intimidation, and harassment of YSRCP leaders.
Notable leaders such as Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Midhun Reddy, and Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy have been attacked, and police failed to act. Many YSRCP leaders have been forcibly prevented from entering their constituencies, and some have been driven out due to threats.
Former MP Nandigama Suresh was jailed under fabricated charges, while false cases have been filed against former ministers Rajani, Ambati Rambabu, and Perni Nani. The ruling coalition also resorted to widespread violence and intimidation during the recent municipal by-elections, hijacking democratic processes to consolidate its power.
The reinstatement of former IPS officer AB Venkateswara Rao, who faces multiple allegations, into a government post, and his role in orchestrating political vendettas, further highlights the misuse of police machinery.
YSRCP firmly states that it will not be intimidated by these oppressive measures. The party will continue to fight against the unlawful actions of the ruling government and demand justice for those wrongfully targeted.
The people are witnessing these undemocratic practices and will respond appropriately in due course. The YSR Congress Party calls upon the ruling coalition to uphold democratic values, stop misusing the police, and govern within the legal framework.
If these authoritarian practices persist, the law itself will turn into a noose around the ruling party’s neck. The people’s voice cannot be silenced, and YSRCP will stand unwavering in its commitment to justice and democracy.
