Visakhapatnam, April 7: YSRCP has condemned the spread of lies on the GSDP by TDP and its friendly media trying to give an impression that it was at 8.21 percent while it was only projection that was given by the State itself.
The figure given was by the State Government and it is only a projection stating that the state could achieve such growth rate in the year while it was projected as if it was actually attained and misleading the people, Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Council told media here on Monday.
When the revenues are falling down and there is no capital expenditure how can there be a growth rate, he questioned and said YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government during its term had disbursed welfare schemes through DBT and has increased the purchasing power of the people and kept the economy rolling.
It is our bounden duty to clear the confusion among the people on the GDSP put the record straight, he said adding that the coalition government has taken loans worth Rs 1,54 lakh crores after assuming office and did not implement any of the welfare schemes promised nor did it spend on any tangible capital expenditure. In such a scenario how can the GDSP grow by 8.21 percent is anybody’s guess.
It is only the estimate or projection given by the State government. With revenues and other income on slide such a growth cannot be achieved, he said.
The welfare schemes like Talliki Vandanam, free bus travel and others are non-starters and all sections are felt cheated, he said.
Replying to questions he said the Party has opposed the Wakf Bill in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and YV Subba Reddy had voiced concern over the Bill in the upper house.
It is not removing garbage tax but removing garbage is the main point which the coalition is neglecting. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government has given priority to medical and education sector while the collation government has different priorities, he added.
